[4.1 Point] Starbucks Uijeongbujang Cancer DT Point “Toilet” in Korea
I visited Starbucks Uijeongbujangam DT branch. On my way back from Pocheon, I was craving coffee intensely. While driving down the Dongbu Expressway, I knew I would come across a cafe as my desire for food grew stronger than the need for coffee. I decided to satisfy my immediate craving.
As I left the national highway and followed the road, lo and behold, I saw a dazzling Starbucks! And it had a drive-thru! This was an opportunity.
An opportunity to visit the restroom!
The restroom at Starbucks Uijeongbujangam DT branch:
Accessibility:
It's on the 2nd floor. I had difficulty climbing stairs due to recent leg discomfort. The decision to have the restroom only on the 2nd floor felt oddly strange, resulting in a deduction.
The 2nd floor was spacious. Including the 1st floor, it had enough space to accommodate over 100 people. Despite the size, it was easy to find the restroom. However, even after finding the restroom sign, I had to navigate through narrow corridors twice before actually seeing the restroom. These unexpected distances in a crowded situation were hazardous factors.
Size:
2 urinals, 1 toilet. In a service area where over 100 people, who have been consuming food and drinks for a long time, visit, this restroom feels small in scale.
Returning to the crowded situation, I forcefully blocked the guy who was casually pushing and shoving with my muscle power. With extraordinary mental strength and a liter of sweat, I endured the three unexpected corridors, like a battle. It was tough. You have the right to cleanly flush the toilet. But...
But when I opened the restroom door, the door to the toilet was firmly closed. One cubicle differs from multiple cubicles. You have to wait for that particular cubicle to be available. My muscle power couldn't overcome the disappointment, and I might just let everything go.
Cleanliness:
Good smell, good floor, clean surroundings of the toilet, clean mirror. The sink had a little moisture, but it was acceptable. Overall, it was very clean. I heard that Starbucks Uijeongbujangam DT branch is a very clean restaurant certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and I could feel that cleanliness in the restroom as well.
Atmosphere:
The cozy atmosphere was created with dim-toned interior and pin lighting. The white-toned ceiling gave a clean and bright feeling with the lighting.
However, the fact that the storage cabinet under the sink was open and cleaning tools were visible around the toilet, and the presence of a disposable hand sanitizer container somewhat compromised the atmosphere. It didn't deserve a high score, but the overall coziness was highly commendable.
While writing this review, a thought suddenly came to mind. The space around the toilet cubicle is quite spacious. Not only the interior, but the spacious toilet cubicle enhances the cozy atmosphere. Since the space is limited anyway, it would have been better to sacrifice a little coziness and have two toilet cubicles, which would have earned a higher score.
Convenience:
Mirror, soap, toilet paper, hand towels, automatic air freshener, and other basic facilities were all available.
The hand towel dispenser was a modern model that automatically cuts the towel based on the amount of stacked tissue, unlike the previous model where you had to pull with difficulty. Both the sink and the toilet had rotating and neat types of trash cans.
The coat hanger visible when closing the door of the toilet cubicle looked very sturdy and good.
Bonus Points:
There is a separate temperature control and air purification device installed in the restroom. Wow! Starting this review, I haven't been to restrooms in large franchises like this, but wow, I saw it.
