[1.1/5.0] Unnamed Terrible Restroom
I used to drink a lot in the past.
Saying it like this makes it seem like a distant past, but it's not really. Recently, I've been focusing on recovering as my body feels uncomfortable. There are many days when I crave a drink, but I endure it. It's inevitable. Someday, I will be able to drink alcohol to my heart's content again. Then, I'll be able to visit more restrooms.
I don't remember exactly when, but I remember a restroom I visited on a day when alcohol was flowing through my veins. I only have one photo from that time, so it's difficult to provide a detailed review, but even with that, there's much to learn.
It was a one-stall restroom.
There was no sink. When I opened the door, there was garbage piled on both sides of the toilet, and a sour and pungent smell pierced through my lungs. It felt like entering through the belly of a monster, squeezing through its organs.
When I sat on the toilet and looked up, the angle in that photo was exactly what I saw. That's how narrow it was. A tall person would probably have their knees touching the metal door.
However, the restroom was located between the walls of the staircase between the 1st and 2nd floors. So, people walked through that one metal door, and the sound was vividly heard as if the door was open. If someone happened to open the door, I would be facing that person. Therefore, the locking mechanism of that metal door is truly important.
The key point of this monstrous restroom is precisely its locking mechanism.
After opening the door, entering, locking it, and pulling down my pants, I released what was inside me. But then, I realized that the outside sounds were heard too clearly, and I became anxious, so I looked at the door handle. At that moment, the condition of the door was the same as in that photo. Is it in the "open" or "locked" state?
If I were to write a book about UI/UX, I would definitely include this as a bad example. That's why I took a picture of it.
I didn't know it back then.
That I would start reviewing restrooms-
